TEST - Ciber Production - POD

August 8, 2024 - November 1, 2024
paoli, Pennsylvania, USA

The New England Regional Summit is a discussion forum where nationally prominent local trauma experts interact with community-based orthopedic surgeons who are actively involved in the treatment of patients with fractures.

This informal, almost entirely discussion-based Summit is highly interactive with clinical presentations that include:

·        Tips, tricks, and techniques on how the faculty tackle clinical problems.

·        Frank confidential discussions about how to manage cases “on the fringe of normal” – a routine case that isn’t going normally.

·        Complications and frustrations of the experts and how they dealt with them.

Each session incorporates an alternating case presentation-discussion format followed by participant case presentations. ALL participants are strongly encouraged to bring personal cases for discussion to optimize their personal experience and involvement – you will personally get more out of this course as a result.

If you’ve attended this course over the years, you know why so many participants return annually.  In fact, surgeons wait all year just for this one course.  If you’ve never been to this course, make 2024 the year that you do participate as we are honored to have Dr. Mark Vrahas as Sage for the 2024 Course

In 2001 Dr. Vrahas, along with Drs. Raymond White and Jesse Jupiter initiated and Co-Chaired the New England Trauma Summit.  Dr. Vrahas acted as Co-Chair from 2001 -2018 and we are honored to welcome him back as Sage in 2024.

You are all attending a conference. Something motivated you to attend this conference. Your students, employees, patients and family members all have motivation of one sort or another. Motivation is a common term. People use it to mean very different things. What does motivation mean to you? How do you know when you have it? How do you know when others are motivated? What can we do to improve the quality of our own motivation and the motivation of those around us? There has been a national symposium held each year on the study of motivation since the 1940’s. At the session on motivation, I would like to hear some examples of your most and least motivating experiences and what you think made them so. I will present at least one framework by which motivation has been defined and used scientifically and now clinically with at least some success. It is likely to be important that teachers, program directors, and clinicians have some concept of motivation that informs how they work with others. It may or may not be so important which one you adopt. You can decide that for yourself. I hope you will leave the session with one or two new things to try out.
